Amazon Patents Wristband to Monitor Employee Productivity

According to sources, Amazon, the online webstore giant, filed a patent application for a wristband that would monitor employee productivity.

These new work “uniforms” would –

“emit ultrasonic sound pulses and radio transmissions to track where an employee’s hands were in relation to inventory bins”

Basically, Amazon is able to data track and data mine whether or not employees are actually picking, packing and technically “working” in their facilities.

Employees will, in a way, become automated machines, allowing Amazon to squeeze out every once of juice “..or else!”

This idea has stirred up controversy, amongst worker rights groups questioning privacy, and ethics.

How would you feel if you were being monitored every second of the day at work?  This takes keyboard loggers to a whole new level.
